Honey Frozen Yogurt Recipe

Maybe it’s nostalgia driven, or perhaps there’s something biological demanding that we consume more sugar in the heat. No matter the contributing factor, it’s undeniable that we crave a touch of sweetness in the heat of summer. Enter: organic honey. Naturally sweet and floral, we can’t get enough of our Sicilian honey this time of year. Swirled into an ice-cold, tangy honey frozen yogurt, drizzled with vibrant Heritage Blend Olive Oil, and finished with a pinch of Sicilian Sea Salt, Lemon Blossom Honey takes this refreshing treat to the next level.

Note: If you don’t have an ice cream maker, simply whisk the ingredients together and pour them into a freezer safe container to set. The texture won’t be as light, but the flavor will be just as good.

LEMON BLOSSOM HONEY FROZEN YOGURT

Serves 4-6

INGREDIENTS

▢ 3 cups whole fat greek yogurt
▢ 1 cup whipping cream
▢ 1/2 cup Lemon Blossom Honey
▢ 1 tsp vanilla extract
▢ pinch of salt

Olive Oil
Sea Salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Whisk together the yogurt, whipping cream, honey, vanilla and salt until fully combined.
  2. Place in the refrigerator until cool.
  3. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn until set, roughly 1 hour.
  4. Pour the ice cream into a freezer safe container with a lid and freeze for at least 5 hours. If you leave it overnight, be sure to remove from the freezer 20-30 minutes before serving to allow it to soften.
  5. Scoop into bowls and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt to serve.
  6. Mangiamo.
