The aroma of this easy, yeasty bread will transport you to the Italian countryside. A soft airy crumb studded with roasted garlic complements a crisp, olive oil laden crust creating a rich combination. Perfect for sandwiches, accompanying antipasti, or simply dipping in your favorite Bona Furtuna olive oil.
ROASTED GARLIC FOCACCIA BREAD

Prep time: 90 minutes; Cook time: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS
For the Roasted Garlic:
▢ 1 whole head garlic
▢ 1 tbsp Bona Furtuna Extra Virgin Olive Oil
▢ Pure Sicilian Sea Salt, to taste
For Dough:
▢ 5 tbsp Bona Furtuna Extra Virgin Olive Oil, plus more for drizzling
▢ 1 1/2 cups warm water
▢ 1 1/4 tsp salt
▢ 3 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
▢ 1 tbsp instant yeast
*Swap out any Bona Furtuna seasoning for fun variations
DIRECTIONS
Roasted garlic:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Place garlic head in the center of a sheet of aluminum foil.
- Drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil and salt. Wrap tightly and roast in oven until garlic is tender, about 45 minutes. Let cool.
Dough:

Drizzle 2 tbsp olive oil in a greased 10” round pan.

Combine all the dough ingredients and beat at high speed with an electric mixer for 60 seconds. Add peeled, roasted garlic cloves and mix 10 more seconds.

Scoop the sticky dough into prepared pan, cover, and let rise at room temperature for 60 minutes.

While dough rises, preheat oven to 375ºF. Gently poke dough with your fingers to create dimples. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with Oregano Salt. Bake until golden, approximately 30 minutes.
