The Honeypot Pizza

There’s a touch of spring tickling the air and we’re leaning in with flavors reminiscent of warmer days just around the corner. As the trees shrug off winter’s icy shawl, green buds poke out their nose to sniff out the sweet smell of springtime and Mother Earth reminds us of her magnificence. Combining the naturally sweet and floral nectar of Wildflower Honey, and the earthy, pungent flavors of hand-harvested truffles, this sharp, sweet, and spicy pizza celebrates the pure flavors that our earth lovingly yields.

THE HONEYPOT PIZZA

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

Ancient Grain Pizza Dough
▢ Extra Virgin Olive Oil
▢ 4 oz Taleggio cheese
▢ Sicilian Chili Pepper Flakes
▢ Black Truffle Salt
▢ Wildflower Honey

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 500°F.
  2. If you have a pizza stone, use it to bake your pizza. If not, place a piece of parchment on the backside of a metal sheet pan.
  3. On a well-floured surface stretch out the dough with your hands to achieve a perfect rustic crust. If you feel comfortable handling the dough in your hands, pinch the edges and rotate the dough in a circular direction, allowing gravity to do the work of stretching the dough. This allows for the crust to hold structure while the center thins out.
  4. Place the dough onto your pizza stone/sheet pan. Brush the dough with olive oil, and spread the taleggio around equally. Sprinkle with a pinch of Sicilian Chili Pepper Flakes.
  5. Bake for 7-10 minutes until the crust is browned and cooked through.
  6. Drizzle with Wildflower Honey and sprinkle with a pinch of Truffle Salt to serve.
  7. Mangiamo.
